Gas Laboratory Technician Certification
CSA Standards offers technician certification for manufacturers who desire to have their technicians test product as part of CSA International’s Manufacturer’s Generated Data for Gas Product Design Certification (MGD) Program. The MGD Program allows manufacturers, who qualify under this program, to participate in the certification process by assisting in product testing of a gas appliance or control.
About CSA Standards’ Gas Laboratory Technician Certification Program:
- Standardizes the certification process for Gas Laboratory Technicians to ensure a more consistent evaluation and improves program quality.
- Provides participating organizations with added flexibility decreasing the demand on their technicians’ time.
- Is an important step in the process of participating in CSA International’s Manufacturer Generated Data Program for Gas Product Design.
Certification Format:
- A written examination, used to evaluate technicians’ understanding of the product standard.
- First-time-candidates must also demonstrate their ability to conduct performance testing.
Upon successful completion of the written and practical examination (if required), technicians are qualified to submit test data to CSA International for evaluation in the product certification process.
