Cleveland, OH – July 15, 2009 – CSA Standards, a leading developer of standards, codes and personnel certification programs, today officially announces that its CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) Fuels System Inspector Program is now accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The CSA Standards CNG Fuel System Inspector (CNG-FSI) certification is the only accredited certification available in North America for CNG fuel system inspectors. The certification covers the inspection of containers, valves, pressure relief devices (including vent system) and other fuel system components of compressed natural gas-powered vehicles.
ANSI accreditation shows that the CSA Standards personnel certification program has met stringent program requirements based on the international standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 General requirements for bodies operating certification schemes for persons. The standard contains guidelines designed for the development and maintenance of professional certification programs that deliver fairness and reliability to candidates while meeting the requirements of the public, industry and other stakeholders.
